Leather Jacket Size Guide
Short answer: Measure your chest with a soft tape, find that number in the chart below, and order that size. Do not go by the label on a jacket you already own, because sizes differ from brand to brand.
How to Measure Yourself
What you need: A soft measuring tape, a thin t-shirt, and two minutes. Stand relaxed, keep the tape flat against your body, and do not pull it tight.
Chest (most important)
Wrap the tape around the widest part of your chest, under your armpits and straight across your back. Breathe out normally, then read the number.
Waist
Measure around the narrowest part of your torso, usually a little above your belly button.
Shoulders
Measure across your upper back, from the bony tip of one shoulder to the other. Ask someone to help if you can.
Sleeve
Bend your elbow slightly. Measure from the tip of your shoulder, down the outside of your arm, to your wrist bone.
Length
Measure from the bone at the base of your neck straight down to where you want the jacket to end.
Tip: If you only take one measurement, make it the chest. That is the number that decides your size.

How a Leather Jacket Should Fit
A new leather jacket should feel snug, not tight. Check these four points when you try it on:
- Shoulders: The seam sits right at the edge of your shoulder, not hanging down your arm.
- Chest: You can zip it up over a t-shirt without the leather pulling.
- Sleeves: They end at your wrist bone when your arms hang down, and still cover your wrists when you reach forward.
- Movement: You can cross your arms and reach ahead without the back feeling like it will split.
Leather relaxes with wear and shapes itself to your body. It does not shrink back. A jacket that starts slightly close will become comfortable, while one that starts loose only gets looser.
Fit by Jacket Style
Biker / Moto
Short and close to the body. Our advice: Order your measured size.
Cafe Racer
Slim and minimal. Our advice: Measured size; go up one only if you dislike a fitted look.
Bomber
Roomier body, ribbed cuffs and hem. Our advice: Measured size, even with a light layer under it.
Trucker
Straight and slightly boxy. Our advice: Order your measured size.
Blazer
Structured shoulders, longer body. Our advice: Check the shoulder measurement as well as chest.
Long Coat
Made to go over other clothes. Our advice: Go up one if you wear thick layers.
Between Two Sizes?
Decide by what you will wear underneath.
- T-shirt or shirt: Choose the smaller size. The leather will ease up within a few weeks.
- Hoodie or thick sweater: Choose the larger size.
- Broad shoulders or a fuller midsection: Choose the larger size so the zip closes comfortably.
Still not sure? Send your chest, waist and height to our contact page and tell us which jacket you want. We will confirm your size before you order.
Sizing for Leather Suits
For a suit, we need a few more numbers: chest, waist, hips, inseam (crotch to ankle), thigh, and your height and weight. A suit should fit closer than a jacket, so measure over thin clothing and send us the figures if you are unsure.
Custom sizing is available on request.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I size up in a leather jacket?
Only if you plan to wear heavy layers under it. Over a t-shirt or shirt, order your measured size.
Do Stryker Gears jackets run true to size?
Yes, when you match your body measurements to our chart. Do not rely on the size you wear in other brands.
Does leather stretch?
It loosens a little at the shoulders and elbows and moulds to your shape, but it will not grow a full size.
I am tall or have long arms. What should I do?
Check the sleeve and length columns before ordering. If they fall short, contact us about custom sizing.
What if my jacket does not fit?
